Profiling a preschool hit’s fanbase before a global launch.

A global entertainment studio was taking a hit preschool show into new markets and onto the big screen. To target the launch well, it needed to know exactly who the show's fans were. TIF data defined the core audience and sharpened the strategy around it.

01
The challenge

A global launch aimed at a fuzzy audience

The show was a hit, but the studio was working from broad assumptions about who its fans really were. Ahead of a theatrical release and a push into new markets, briefing creative, media and partners on “kids” was too blunt to target well.

The team needed a precise, evidence-based picture of the core audience: who loves the show, how old they are, and what else fills their world.

02
The approach

A profile built from what fans actually do

Using TIF data, the studio profiled the show’s fans and defined a clear core: girls aged 3 to 9 who name it as their favourite. It went further than demographics, mapping the platforms they watch, the characters they love and the wider passions that sit alongside the show.

Because the data is continuous and comparable across markets, the same profile could guide both the home launch and the move into new regions, rather than a one-off study for each.

03
The outcome

A launch targeted on evidence, not instinct

With a defined core audience, the studio sharpened its engagement and targeting for the theatrical release and the new-market push. Creative, media and partner conversations could all point to the same picture of who the fans were and where to reach them.

Instead of guessing at “kids”, the team launched to a clearly understood audience, with the confidence to invest behind it.

We stopped talking about “kids” and started talking about our actual audience. That clarity changed how we briefed the whole launch.
